steelseries arctis review : We’re at some extent immediately where the bulk of gaming headsets are featuring better sound for fewer money, and it’s getting harder and harder to differentiate a $300 headset from a $100 headset.
While most peripheral companies are adding their own bits of flare in hopes that their headset will carve out its own niche, the crowded headset marketplace doesn’t leave tons of flexibility . But when it involves the new SteelSeries Arctis 5 gaming headset, which comes in at $99.99.
the subtle nuances and bits of flair are what sets it apart.
First, it’s the graceful texture of the Arctis 5 that grabbed my attention. As someone who is incredibly sensitive to how things feel on his fingers, I can tell you that the texture of the Arctis 5 is smooth.

steelseries arctis review
I’ve skilled exactly 3 headsets (The official Microsoft Xbox One headset, PlayStation Gold Wireless headset 2018, and a Razor headset) trying to find a viable option that had both DECENT audio and mic quality, as all the headsets I’ve purchased have had build quality issues and terrible mic quality. I’ve given abreast of learning a wireless headset as from what I’ve seen, are incredibly expensive. I saw the ad for the SteelSeries Arctic 1 headset and it seemed too good to be true (very cheap price for a wireless headset.
and interchange between 3 consoles) and to my surprise, it lived up to just about all its claims.
Wireless connectivity works seamlessly with its included dongle.
and that i have had zero dropouts or latency issues with it on both PS4 and Nintendo Switch. I originally purchased this headset primarily for the PS4, as I imagined wireless headsets were completely incompatible with the Nintendo Switch.
but the headset does in-fact exerting and every one the buttons on the headset (Mic Mute On/Off, Volume Dial) work on both systems. Mic quality is superb also as audio quality, it’s perfectly balanced and not ridiculously skewed towards bass.
and therefore the volume are often raised very high on both consoles if you would like .

Battery life thus far has also been great, it’s something I haven’t had to stress about when using and that i only had to charge them once hebdomadally out of habit. The headset itself doesn’t feel flimsy and seems decently built, It’s pretty light and is surprisingly comfortable to wear.
such a lot i exploit it also when I’m on my laptop. the sole thing that slightly annoys me is that once I switch playing consoles and need to use the headset thereon.
I even have to urge up and unplug the headset dongle and connect it to the console I’m using (say, from the PS4 to the Nintendo Switch). this is often just about a primary world problem.
but it’s something I’ve encounter every once during a while.
Overall I even have to mention I’m really loving this headset, if you were on the fence for this thing i actually recommend you provides it a try.
UPDATE June 2020: It’s been 8 months since I’ve bought this headset.
and that i just wanted to report back that it’s delayed ROCK SOLID. This thing is by all means not flimsy, and therefore the battery life has delayed incredibly well. I’ve been gaming really long sessions, roughly 5-6 hours long each with friends online.
and this thing just keeps going with no issues whatsoever. one among the few purchases I’ve made that I can say was absolutely worthwhile.
