pokemon mystery dungeon review 1
First off, Blue Rescue team was my first ever computer game back in 2007. Having that out of the way, this being the remake has lived up to my expectations and more. I’m not very far during this one yet, barely beat Zapdos, but it’s both very similar and really different to the originals.
The music is super nostalgic. It’s very similar to the originals but with another “pop”. I don’t skills they took the originals and made them better, but they did. The sprites are very nice. a few of small complaints include Eevee’s run cycle and Ekans generally . i am keen on most other sprites.
I also just like the added dialogue and animations. Absol was one among my favorites within the original and I’ve heard that he’s been given additional dialogue. Also, all of Zapdos’s animations were superb.
I would highly recommend this game to new and old mystery dungeon fans alike. I had high hopes for this, as i used to be very disappointed in SWSH. can 100% say this remake has surpassed my expectations and that i don’t regret buying it.

This game is actually amazing! As mentioned elsewhere, this is often a remake and update from the first Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue/Red Rescue Team. The mechanics are updated in order that your partner Pokemon are smarter than the first game (they avoid traps, actually assist you defeat enemies, devour items, use items appropriately, etc). Also, some minor in town improvements help to feature a contemporary mechanic and feel to the sport while still staying faithful the first feel and gameplay. The art is amazing! It appears as if everything was hand drawn and made intimately .
If you observe the movements of the Pokemon, the cut scenes, and in town detail, the graphic designers put tons of effort into them to form them realistic while maintaining the design of hand drawn art and therefore the original game. for instance , if you observe Pidgey and its evolution chain, you’ll see its wings flap and move realistically (within the context of it being hand drawn). If you’re a lover of the first , this game is ideal for you, or if you’re a Pokemon fan or want to experience a dungeon crawler, then this game is great! Items from later games are added so there are a greater number of things to gather and fairy types are added.

One disappointment is that, while the Pokemon are smarter (both partner and foe) the partner Pokemon still lack some practicality. for instance , I had recruited a couple of Pokemon in an early dungeon, and that i lead my team through a hallway. However, an enemy entered the space that also contained a few of my teammates. albeit the sport added the element that your team actually follows the leader (which is great) and doesn’t engage in every single battle.
the enemy Pokemon began to use distance attacks against my team. The Pokemon that it had been hitting didn’t move or attempt to get out of the way. It just stood there and fainted. So, albeit the AI has improved drastically since the primary games that these are based off of, it still falls a small bit short during this area and a couple of others.
However, those points are minor and therefore the game is great and may be a alright done update/refresh on a classic that also maintains the integrity of the classic while adding many small modern features that cash in of the updates of computers. Definitely one to shop for , and that i hope they are available out with similar updated games for one or more of the remainder of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series!
